Re: [RC] Dressage saddles for endurance - Zephyr Arabians

What you're talking about here is the "sweet spot" and
is important for a horse to have good saddle position.
This is what is lacking on my mare that wears a
crupper. She's got ok withers and a strong back, but
without the sweet spot the saddle doesn't stay still
on steep downhills. As I said, she's the only one of
my horses with this issue, so it's one I've become far
too aware of. :) BTW, I like well-sprung ribs and do
not consider the wide back of an Arabian to be a fault
-- as long as they have withers and sweet spot -- the
teardrop shape is correct on a TB or some other
breeds, but few Arabians are built like that, even
good Arabians.

I also use a Wintec Dressage Pro (w/ interchangable
gullet, but older than the CAIR models). How do you
like the CAIR as compared to the older models? I'm
thinking about getting a Dressage 2000 or AP 2000 with
the CAIR system eventually. Have you ridden in the
AP? I'm a rider that is greatly annoyed by the
slightest misalignment of the stirrups -- partly due
to having ridden bareback & dressage so much, and
partly due to a bad back.
