Re: RC: Re: Really important question

This is 'almost' how my Swedish grandmother made delicious coffee. Her method:

Use one of those speckled enameled camp-style coffee pots. Place your regular
grind coffee in the bottom. Throw in one WHOLE egg, shell and all. Break up
the shell and stir shell, egg, and coffee together. Pour boiling water over
this mixture and let coffee boil slowly for a few minutes. Take the pot off the
fire and pour about a half cup of cold water into it. Let stand for about five
minutes while the egg and shell 'sink' the grounds to the bottom of the pot,
then pour coffee gently.

At ridecamp, I use a Melitta plastic cone (No. 6 filter) that fits over a
thermal pot. Coffee goes in filter, pour boiling water over coffee, and you
have a quart of nice hot coffee! Learned this from fellow Ridecamper Suzanne
Mounts.
