8 y ULTIMA ETAPA

Sánchez Hidalgo Lozano & Solar proclaimed winners Kaliber Lands Raid Al-Andalus after traveling more than 500km

Le Gall and Augustine won the final stage

Today was the hardest day of the Raid and long with 77 km to go, three checks and the Sierra de Andújar (Jaén) as a backdrop.

Saturday April 4. It seems it was yesterday when the raid began Kaliber Lands in Al-Andalus Jerez de la Frontera (Cadiz), but we have left behind more than 500km over 8 stages, we have discovered even more the beauty of the land Al-Andalus, through landscapes of indescribable beauty and the one that we enjoy today in the Sierra de Andújar (Jaén), which have proclaimed champions of the General Eduardo Sanchez and his horse Hermés competing in the category of binomial and of Iñigo Solar & Teresa Lozano with his mare Zafia-50 in the category of equipment.

Today was played the eighth and final day of the toughest rallies of the calendar of international competitions. The final stage was the longest and most powerful of all, as the riders must travel 77 km in three phases, crossing the Sierra de Andújar up to the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Cabeza (Jaen), and pass three checks instead two, as done in previous phases. The hardness of the road and the degree of tilt has become the queen stage in a challenge for many participants, which conformed to reach goal.

Apart from the last stage win was also the overall standings at stake, as in the mountain stages the differences in time may become very important. Binomials in a change did not seem possible, but in the classification of teams Catalan Emma Rosell launched his attack with his mount AL-Khatib from the second stage, Cardeña way to The New Place, 43 miles of continuous rise. The French came in the head with Lazou Aurélie Le Gall, who had chances in the general, but looking for a stage victory.

In the veterinary control of the New Place and the difference between Rosell extremeño Inigo del Solar, which defended its first position, was only ten minutes, enough to try to win only 7 kilometers to the finish.

Camino del Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza and Le Gall Lazou rose gallop without looking back and won the stage with a 2:15 advantage over Rosell, and with the sun 18 minutes. The final winners were the team of Extremadura Íñigo and Teresa Lozano del Solar, with the Catalan and Mary Emma Rosell Capdevila second and third Andalusian Santiago Perez.

In the category of pairs there was no fight for the final classification, as the two made the first stage together, but for the stage win it was an interesting dispute between Hubin with Christine Leo-DE-LA-GRILLETIÈRE and with Agustin Florencio CRAFTSMAN. First came together, almost to the veterinary control of the new place, where ARTESANA a minute and went ahead in the final kilometers the Spanish team was much cooler than the French and won with a lead of over six minutes. In the overall standings and Eduardo Sanchez Hidalgo won HERMES front of Otto Velez-Partenon and PAL, while the Belgian Joëlle Sauvage was third with MANDCHOUR-DU-Barth.

International participation, each year the largest single race in the world is guaranteed for the 2010 edition because all foreign participants have already confirmed their satisfaction and their interest in returning to contention. Organizational success of a first team captained by KALIBER and Jose Manuel Soto.

Winners can collect their prizes tonight consisting among others in a gift check of € 3000, € 1500 and € 750 for first, second and third ranked, and the cup, diploma and a ham, a shoulder or an Iberian Iberian range.

INFORMATION VENCEDORES

SANCHEZ HIDALGO winning in the category of Binomio

Excitement in the third and final Vetgate when near the ridge 42 with his horse, if the control pulse of the horse and the horse were to race well, vendors proclaim Raid.

Eduardo Sanchez is a young rider who rides a Hermes, a horse 90% of English and Creole, as its name indicates was the herald and messenger of the Gods, who through his cunning and ingenuity of its rider was binomials proclaimed winner in the fourth edition of the Raid Kaliber Lands of Al-Andalus. As we commented Eduardo, Sanlucar de Barrameda in Cádiz, where he was honored to proclaim himself the winner of the stage, Hermés withdrew this Raid of high competition, to rest and devote himself to be "godmother" or master of the remaining horses. With a curriculum weight, and 14 years, Hemes has won three consecutive years in the 160, Cordova, League of High Competition Spain, Copa del Rey, has been convened by the global selection of Bahrain, and also Champion of the Championship of Portugal, among others.

We are left with the impressions of Eduardo, "has been a great raid, all stages have been phenomenal. I stay with the people involved and makes it possible to carry out a raid like this in Andalusia and hopefully can run next year. "

THE SOLAR AND TERESA LOZANO FINALISTS IN THE CATEGORY OF EQUIPMENT

Iñigo del Solar & Teresa Lozano are the winners of the general team classification. With an age difference between the two important, are the best example of that exercise does not talk of racing age, but of passion. Iñigo ran his first 10 years with Raid and then has not stopped. As he himself has defined "is not competitive, and cares a championship three noses." This is the first time winning Kaliber Land Raid Al-Andalus, but not the first time participating. In the first edition reached ninth, the second year his horse became lame in one of the phases and the last part was just a phase, so it is played between the top fall, but not imagined as a complete winner . He claims to have enjoyed the landscape and people's Raid Kaliber land of Al-Andalus, "From the first moment has been like a big family," and gets the last two stages of Andújar and Montoro.

Zafia-50 is the name of the mare with which they participated, an Anglo-Arab horse belonging to the military stud Cordova. Last year it won seven Raids.
