Have to have crew?

Hi,

  I'm just starting to think about doing endurance riding or CTRs with
Apache (my 15 year old gelding).  I read the e-mail by Linda about a crew.
Do I need to worry about getting my own pit crew together?  I am single and
I really don't have any friends that would come out and do that for me.  Is
it possible to get by without a crew?  Obviously, since I'm a beginner, I
would start with a 25 miler.
