Re: BC vs. first (and arrogant oldies)

I just got off the phone with an "oldbie" tonight.  Jan Mills Kennedy has
been in distance riding since I was knee high to a grasshopper.  We have
had some talks about the LD thing and coming up this weekend at the GLDRA
meeting, we are hoping to encourage more LD in Michigan next year and
really, really want to see some sort of year end award as well.  Jan wrote
a letter to one of our ride reps requesting that this be brought up (an
excellent way for all of us to approach the idea of "change") at the
meeting.  ANYWAY, to make a long story short...which is what I was wanting
to do.  Jan shared a "bumper sticker" with me that she said she saw on
someone's trailer at a ride...."If to finish is to win, why is there first
place?"  Hmmmmm.........
