Re: International Rider

Hi Heidi,

That was what I was hoping, I've just have never had direct experience with
a rider from overseas. I must be thinking of riding in FEI events out of
your own home country. Perhaps then you must have permission of your
national equestrian governing organization?? I don't know where I got these
notions, but figured better to be safe, than sorry in entering her!

My friend's name is Heidi Olsen. She actually came over here from 1994-1995
to serve as an Au Pair to my children. When we filled out our
application/questionnaire, it asked if we had any special interests. I said
that while it wasn't mandatory, an au pairs life in this household would
certainly be much easier if she had an affinity for horses! Eventing and
dressage are her background. She's never done a distance ride, but while
she was here visiting last summer we dragged her along on several long
training rides! Heidi is originally from Kalundborg but since returning to
Denmark she has resided in Copenhagan. I'm not sure what region you are in,
but we are in SE and are planning to do Big South Fork and maybe Natchez or
Biltmore while she is here. I know she'd LOVE to meet your husband. In the
time that she spent here, I only heard her speak Danish once, and that was
only because she ran into a boarder at Diane Potts and Robby Doll's farm who
was born in Denmark and raised by Danish parents!

Susan
