SOOOOOOO Why can't the long distant disciplines develop a mileage
tracking that would span all disciplines????? It does seem silly that a
horse can have 3,000 NATRC miles and have to start over to earn 3,000 more
in AERC. I should think it a tribute to a rider who uses all of the formats
to develop a calm, athletic competitor that stays sound and keen into his
late teens and later.

The idea that a "hot" horse isn't suited for CTR just sets the stage
for future injury to horse and, possibly the rider, if a rider caters to the
"hotness".

Perhaps that horse won't win prizes doing CTR, but he sure will
learn a lot about patience, rating and depending upon his human partner when
he is physically and mentally able to tackle longer distances and faster
speeds!

Ditto the sensible use of LD "endurance" for the same training
purposes OR for a satisfying competitive experience no matter what the reason!
