I just want to go to a few rides this year and not go broke". This was one of the reasons I started the VVRides. I don't like to get in the trailer and drive 8 hours to a ride. Going to a multi-day makes it easier, as you still have to drive 8 hours, but at least you get to ride more than one day b/f you have to drive back. But even that doesn't deal with the cost issue. It's $300 to do a 1 day 50 (on average:) - it's $500 to do a 3 day and $700 to do a 5 day. That is only the competition expenses (fuel+entries) - not counting for the 2 days driving. I figured, why not figure a way to do 4 days of riding, not spend any extra money, and still get the feeling of a competition. The other motivator, was a desire to "ride the trail against the best", initiated by Steph doing the Big Horn a couple of years ago. they had changed the trail, (and now it's changed again) and there will never be another "original BH". The thought was that if we had the GPS of the trial, and the (detailed) vet cards of the people who had done it, I could, net time I pass through Wyoming:) stop and do the the ride (same trail) and compare my times to others who had done it. I prefer to ride by myself anyway, so it would, to me, be a normal AERC ride:) so, I just want to do a few rides a year and not go broke too!!:) jt (http://www.endurance.net/VVRides) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
