Re: [RC] high heel/low heel, asymmetric shoulder - Dawn Carrie

One of my geldings has asymmetrical front feet...his right front has low heel, and the frog is much longer on that side.  The left front grows heel normally.  I deal with this by having his feet done (reshod) every 5 weeks without fail to keep the feet from getting too out of balance.  I'm also careful to switch diagonals very frequently (but I do this whichever horse I'm riding).  In the last few days before he's due to be reshod, when the toe on the low (right) foot is at it's longest, I've noticed that he prefers me to be on the left diagonal, I'm assuming because breakover is a bit delayed on the foot with the lower heel.  This horse has completed 3 one-day 100s thus far, and quite a few 50s, so I'm leery of trying to mess with things.  I don't ride fast, just ride to complete, so I'm not pushing him for speed.  This horse will be 10 this April.

hello,

My horse has some asymmetry on her shoulders (bigger on the right side) and she has a low heel on this side.
She is not lame and has not fitting saddle problem.
But I want to reverse this before it becomes a problem.
Does anyone has experience this and what works to fix it?
Thanks.
