Re: [RC] 4 star trailers - Dawn Carrie

I can only say one thing...BUY ONE!  We have a 4Star.  It's a 4h with a 12' short wall LQ, and is 8' wide.  We absolutely love it.  It's super well made, very comfy, and the horses seem to be happy travelling in it.  It's big, but we can still pull it with our 1 ton Ford.  We haven't had any major problems with it, and the few minor things have been fixed ASAP.  We're fortunate to live only 30 minutes or so from the dealer (Gulf Coast 4 Star), so that's convenient.  :)  The things that we've needed fixed have been truly minor...a fan switch, couple of light bulbs, etc.  We take our trailer back to get scheduled service done, such as on the generator, etc., as we're chronically time-challenged <G> and they are always quick with getting it done.  The folks there are super nice, good to deal with.  We had a 4h, 9 1/2 ft shortwall Sundowner before (7' wide), and upgraded to the 8' wide 4Star (get the 8' wide...it's worth it...makes a huge difference in living space).  We called the Sundowner our "land barge" because it was big.  We call the 4Star our "land yacht"..."barge" was just not good enough.  :)

OK, ridecamp trailer gurus:  Tell me if any of you own a 4 star LQ trailer and all the good and bad experiences you have had...quality, service, what you wish you'd known, what you would do differently, etc.  You can post to the group or just to me:  <c_collins@xxxxxxx>  I would love to support a company that supports the AERC.  Cindy
