RE: [RC] Garmin Forerunner & VV Rides - Don Huston

Hello Shannon

You can order new cables and the cradle here
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1038

Tracks of 15mi or less will probably upload on dial-up to MotionBased okay but a small 2.0GB USB Cruzer Drive from Staples will give you two faster options.

#1. Your Garmin Training Center software (link above) is 42MB and will take 100min to download on dial-up but only 2-4min on cable. You could download it at the office onto Cruzer and install it onto the home PC from Cruzer.

#2. You could also save your tracks at home to Cruzer as GPX files and upload them from Cruzer to MotionBased at the office.

Mine is the 201 I think! I have only used it so far to track the current time and miles and to try to get a feel for mph.  I am hoping I can find the hook ups that came with it! And I am on dial up too.

You are a member on any computer connected to the net. You just "sign in" with your email address from work and password. The old home computer should not be a problem. If you are on "dial-up" that might be a problem but I have a solution if necessary. I mentioned the "cradle" because the 201 uses a cradle, the 205 might not. Which do you have?
