Re: [RC] lunging pre-ride - Sandy Adams

our horses do walk on the lunge but if I am going to walk them I will either hand walk or ride them - at a walk. Too much opportunity to get cranking on a lunge line with the horse a number of feet away.

I never trot until my horse has walked a full 15 minutes. I have definitely never seen anyone lunging at a walk, at least not for 15 min. I do know horses who have tied up on a lunge line and the circumstances at a ride...long trailer in, kept in a small pen all night...very fit horse, are really asking for it.
