Re: [RC] Gator Run GPS Track Wanted - Roxanne Ciccone

Don,
I did use my GPS on all 3 days of Gator Run, but did not remember to turn on until a mile or 2 into each loop. Anyway if i can figure out how to send it it to you I will. I did my second day of 50 miles in 4hrs 5 min my horses fastest time, and yes we were flying. I looked down to check speed occassioanally and it was 14mph. The weather was perfect for the horses and there was nothing on the trail to slow you down, it was so much fun. I do beleive I hav the horse to compete at the WEG, but alas I do not have the money.
Roxanne

I'm not doubting the mileage. A good GPS track will show the speeds and
elevations and how they all fit together. That data would give a good overall
assessment of the trail for those of us who never even dream of such speed. A
ride time of 3:33 on a 50 computes at 14.08mph or 22.54kph average. That means
there were some parts of the trail where the speeds averaged even higher. That
horse is really fast and I hope he/she is signed up for the 100mi Kentucky WEC
in 2010. The 100mi Malasia WEC 2008 was won in 8:49 at 11.25mph or 18.16kph
average so this speedster could slow down by 20% over the longer course and have
a real good chance of winning.
