[RC] Scratches - k s swigart

Scratches don't usually spread to the face.
?
"Scratches" is a catch all term for "dermatitis on the pastern."
?
There are a multitude of causative agents for dermatitis (i.e. skin
inflamation), many (but not all) of which are microbial.
?
And yes, some of these causative agents (whether microbial or not) can also
affect the skin on the face; however, dermatitis on the face is not called
scratches.?
?
This, incidentally, is why there is not A (as in just one) cure for all cases
of scratches.? The right treatment for scratches depends upon the cause of the
dermatitis.? And those causes vary all over the map.
?
It is my understanding that photosensitivity IS one of the known causes of
scratches..and that photosensitivity has been known to cause skin conditions on
the face as well...but on the face, it's not called scratches.? It may respond
to the same treatment though.
