Scratches
don't usually spread to the face. I'd be suspicious of either
photosensitivity (eating some varieties of plants cause this) or a chemical
reaction. I saw it on a horse's face before from getting into a field which had
been sprayed recently. I'd try the zinc oxide first, then if no improvement move
on to a triple antibiotic and anti-fungal cream. This article shows some
of the things which can cause the photosensitivity. http://www.myhorse.com/health/preventative/sun_protection_for_horses.aspx#top
I
received this e-mail from my momther-Ginger. My mare I believe has scratches.
It is of course just on her one white sox and now on her forehead just on the
white. Did we find out what works for this? Thank you Michelle
