Re: [RC] AERC/FEI - Sandy Adams

There are good points on both sides, and sorry, but both sides have a right to speak up - this is OUR organization. There are enough people on both sides of this concern. Many of us are questioning more than one issue with AERC right now. The reality is that this one event, though "just this once" for the first time creates a scenario where the AERC riders - if they could afford it - would be subsidizing FEI riders. That is not an opinion but fact. The CONCERN here is that this WON'T be "just this once". Kind of like, taxes that are supposed to have a sunset but never do. This is a first, and so  response will depend on just how much trust our members have in the probity and frankly, backbone and focus of our leadership. It is reasonable, especially given TOUGH economic times and continued increasing of fees with AERC to be concerned. We have a right and actually a responsibility to stay informed - and a right to have and voice an opinion. Sorry - no offense intended, but that is just the way it is - or should be. I personally am reading everything on this, because I have seen what happens when one group is allowed to use the assets of another. It rarely ends well - certainly not for both parties. Off to find dogs!
