[RC] A few add'l 75 mile ride comments - Mary Howell

In addition to being a confidence builder for those planning their first
100, 75s can also be a "step down" distance for those of us with older
horses (or older bodies!) who just can't quite handle a 100 but who want to
be in the saddle longer than "just" 50 miles.

The start of a 50 can be crowded, depending on how many horses are entered
(I've been in several 50s that had more than 100 horses!). Depending on
whether the 75s start with the 100s or at their own time separate from other
distances, longer distances typically have fewer entries, may be a
controlled start if its not daylight yet, so that you can have a less
stressful start without having to wait until everyone else has left camp!

- Mary Howell in VA, who appreciates the several SE region rides, including
Biltmore and Sand Hills, that are now offering a 75 mile distance.
