[RC] Hunting Season - Nancy Sturm

General rifle deer season opened last week and we took last weekend off, riding during the week. I rode one horse yesterday and the second today, wearing a blaze orange vest. There were several rigs on the logging roads and yesterday I met a group of folks walking, everyone reasonably polite and careful. Today, we were riding through some timber on a single track trail and saw some guys pull off the logging road below us. They didn't have their guns out, but they had spotted the horses moving through the trees and were obviously watching us. They seemed to be able to tell horses from deer.

What do you do, as riders, during deer and elk season about being visable and identifiable as a non target?

Nancy, Southern Oregon
