Re: [RC] Renaming a Horse - jamie ward

When ever we get a rescue or any horse for that  matter the kids and I love to give them a new name. I feel it kind of symbolizes the start of their new life :-) For example  our latest rescue  Is a 17 hand TB mare that qualified but never ended up racing due to a injury as a two year old I am told .While  I do not remember her reg name right now The people she came from, had called her Bella. I took one look at her while my husband unloaded her from the trailer  and  all I saw were legs ( being 200+  lbs under weight kind of made them stick out that much more. So we now call her legs. another one was our Hackney pony  his name had been dusty  now it is Twilight. Dezzy my 11 yrs old daughters gray Arab/QH mare is now called Cloud dancer. our 14 yr olds gray mare  was suzette now  her name is  whisper. and of course our 5 yr old daughters pony went from cinnamon to "Princess" same as  her dog and her cat And her chicken lol  :-))

My horse's feet are as swift as rolling thunder
He carries me away from all my fears
And when the world threatens to fall asunder
His mane is there to wipe away my tears.

My big grey guy, Racethewind MBN helped me to call him
"Windy, Whoa------------------- !!!! "  He has also helped to strengthen & chisel the forearms of all who ride him !
