Re: [RC] award???? - Born Country

Old Folks Home? Not unless they'll take my old horse, too. I've always said
when I'm 100 years old, I'm going to manage to pull my decrepit old bones on my
decrepit old horse and down the trail we'll go. Maybe much slower than we are
now, but we'll go down together.

And since my oldest grandchild is already 15, I may expect to have
great-grandchildren before I'm 65!!!

Personally, I always enjoy receiving an item that commemorates an event.
When I am old (well, much older than I am now) and gray and laying on my
back in bed in some old folks' home, I don't want to look at a 25% off gift
certificate to long-defunct tack shop... I want to look at the blanket or
sheet draped decoratively over my rocker that says "Summer Daze 50-Miler Top
Ten" or the halter with the plate that says "Green Grass 50 Miler Best
Condition" or... that's right... I'll admit it... a Big Ol' HONKIN'
Trophy!!!! (Yes, alright, I have no class.) Then the great-grandkids (if I
had any), looking with big eyes at these things, can say, "grammaw, tell me
about THIS one!?"
