[RC] Hoof care Recommendations - nutrition - Naomi Preston

In the equine nutrition courses I've taken from Dr. Eleanor Kellon, she lists the following as the most common deficiencies impacting a horse's hooves:

-Crude protein
-Sulfur containing amino acids (methionine primarily; cysteine)
-Essential fatty acids
-Zinc
-Copper
-Selenium
-Vitamin E
-Biotin
-Pyridoxine

Before adding a lot of supplements, the first thing to do is analyze what the nutritional and mineral content of the horse's current diet is.
Then you can see where your deficiencies are.
