[RC] Camping without amenities (was: Safe Heater) - k s swigart

Nancy said:

I'd like to get some kind of heater to warm it long
?enough for us to get dressed in the mornings. Anyone
?have one they've used?

Any other ideas for camping without ameneties?

I cannot answer the question about what kind of heater to use, but I can answer
the one about how to address the "getting dressed in the mornings" without
amenities.

Get dressed the night before.

The only thing _I_ have to put on in the norming before a ride is my socks
(because I can't sleep in socks, though some people can) my riding boots, and
whatever top layers I think I need but will probably peel off (depending on the
weather) even before the start.

Although, I confess that this has less to do with not having heat and more to
do with not having light and just not wanting to have to mess with getting
dressed in the morning when I have a lot of other things to do.

Just sleep in your clothes.? It makes the morning of the ride MUCH easier, no
matter what the temperature.
