Re: [RC] Biothane breastcollar - Janice Taylor

Someone else spoke of their horse getting flaky under the breastcollar.? My horse does this under all of his tack after a ride (competition, usually 50 miles).? Be it fleece, biothane, neoprene, girth, breastcollar and saddle pads.? He's a chestnut so just assume it came with the red head thing...<g>? It doesn't seem to bother him, but it does make me wonder how to prevent such a little irritation..? any ideas?
?
Thanks,
Janice

I have been using a biothane breast collar with my Torsion on my pony or 2 years now. ?Now, we never done more than Limited Distances, but it has saved my bacon a few times when she did something funny on the trail (and she has lost her "water weight" from the morning already). ?It has never cut into her. ?We have had NO rubs. ?It is insanely easy to clean. ?Light. ?And does not look clunky on her.

She is a little 13h mare and every ounce counts as I don't seem to be loosing any weight!

I got a 3/4" Beta -biothane with brass snaps from Canadian Trail House (now American Trail Gear). ?I love this thing! ?The woman who made it owned an Icey, so she knew what she was doing for making tack for my pony. ?I've gotten a lot from her in the past.

All the sounds dear to horseman were around me ~ the snorts of horses, the swish of their tails, the tinkle of irons as we flung the saddles over their backs ~ little sounds of no importance, but they stay with us in the unconscious library of memory.
