[RC] Bridgeport, California: A Little Slice of Heaven - MerriMelde - Dream Weaver

I agree with Merri, EHSC is one of the most beautiful rides in the country! Here are some photos I took of loop 2 (the 30 mile loop) last Sunday:

http://enduranceridestuff.com/blog/2009/08/eastern-high-sierra-classic-saturday-august-15-2009/ I really like the first loop the best, it's narrow and technical in spots and reminds me a lot of some of the trail on Tevis. It's always a rush to get up on those trails and be able to look down at Twin Lakes and then head down the mountain, usually on foot, while listening to the sounds of Horse Tail falls.

On the parts we saw last weekend, the trails are in really good shape and as beautiful as ever. There are no bad bogs that we saw but still enough water in the creeks for drinking, and green grass for the horses to eat. There ARE bugs so bring bug spray for yourself and your horse and a flymask for in camp. Oh - and don't forget your Coggins paperwork, you'll need it when you check in. If you don't have it, then you can have one of the vets get it started for you so that you can do the ride. (of course, I don't know if the ride is full to limit or not, so be sure to check with RM first, just in case)
