[RC] staggered start/Tevis - Jonni

They did do a staggered start many years ago when the ride started at the bottom of Squaw. If I remember hearing about it, it became a nightmare trying to keep track of things along the route. And, makes the finish not as exciting as waiting for the very FIRST horse to cross the finish line, and then enter the arena where people are waiting to see the winner.

If a rider who wants to ride the ride just to finish, not pushing to race, most would be a fool to want to be up there towards the front at the start of the ride. Those riders take off FAST, and don't slow down, even on the single track trail you hit fairly early in the ride. You better move just as fast, or be prepared to get run over, or have to pull off the trail to let someone by who is moving out.

If you do not like the pen seeding, you do not have to enter the ride. It is how they do it. Deal with it, or ride another ride.
