Re: [RC] Sidelined! - Diane TrefethenHi Valerie,Last November I was going to do the ride here in Mariposa. I felt Peekaboo was ready but that I wasn't so I decided to ride my gray horse on the Mon-Wed-Fri before the ride. Well, Monday I'm riding along when Beau tripped and went down, launching me like a springboard. Up... and then down. I landed first on my head (I truly love helmets) and then my left shoulder. Four hours later in the ER the x-rays showed an AC2 separation. I didn't do anything special for it, just kept it immobile for a few weeks till it started taking too much time to get out of the sling to do things :) I did go to a physical therapist but he said I didn't need PT and to just keep on doing what I'd been doing which was dragging 115# hay bales, shoveling snow, yada, yada... First conditioning ride was 8 wks, 5 days after the fall and I haven't looked back. Oh... I'll be 67 later this month so hopefully you'll heal a little faster.
