Re: [RC] Does feeding cause HR to hang? - Angie Mikkelson

Don't count on it Joe!  I have a 17 yr old mare that still spikes if she gets water poured on her.  So much to the point that if she is ever allowing water to be poured on her, I would know that she is definately too tired to continue!  At the Owyhee Fandango I had crew for the first time ever and noticed how true this actuall is, she would not pulse down until they quit pouring water on her and I walked her away from the tanks, I could sponge a little but then she just wants to be left alone!  I also learned that her pulse spikes when I leave her, cute, haha.

--We all know about putting water on the horse to help bring the pulse
down, right? Well, Via hates having water put on him, even when it's
hot. So when we put water on him his pulse will spike, then drop
quickly when we stop. Go figure.---

(I'm hoping he'll change his mind about that after he has some more
experience.)
