[RC] re: Marsh's comments - Cindy Collins

"I think the low number of horses that need treatment at his rides is a testament of the success of his philosophy.
Marsh, the muleman. "

Absolutely, Marsh! Dave has a gift for riding along side a horse on his motorcycle or riding out to some point and watching the horses go by, and "seeing" things that are not right with a horse that many other people, including many vets, might not be able to see at a regular vet check. He goes out and see them travel over real terrain carrying their rider. He has so many years of experience watching so many hundreds of endurance horses (along with his own 7,000+ miles of competition) that very few people can match his level of expertise. Even when Dave is pontificating and you don't think he's paying attention to the horses, he doesn't miss much if one walks or trots by him :) Well, that old Duck doesn't need any more ego stroking, but if you could add up all the horses that have ever ridden an XP ride since 1983 and then add up how many horses have ever died or been "seriously" injured/treated on his rides, you'd be pretty darn impressed. Cindy
