I have a retired 'glutton' who has access to pasture 24x7 with his buddy.  Fences are merely a suggestion to him if his friend is out and he's not, so he gets to wear a grazing muzzle a good deal of time.  It works, I just have to ignore the pitiful look he gives me.  Torture, sheer torture!  I have heard the lowest sugar content is typically early AM hr (2am - 10am) - UNLESS it's getting under 40 after a warm, sunny day.  A series of warm sunny days with cold nights are when you need to be very careful.

Anyone out there have an "easy keeper" on green pasture (even part 
time)?  What, if anything, do you do to manage their weight?

A related question... at what times of day / in what weather 
conditions is the sugar content in grass at its lowest?
