Annie, thank you for coming out of "lurking" for an excellent post.   As 
someone who comes from a family of 5th generation dairy farmers (immigrated 
from Switzerland in 1880's) we are appalled at the gov. controls and changes 
that are taking place.  The critics who assault agriculture by innuendo and 
initiative are "royalists" at heart.  The believe they are God, born to 
command while us peons were born to obey.  They equate political power with 
brain power, and claim a monopoly on good intentions.  They know the arts of 
political manipulation and getting the votes, but they know nothing of 
getting the people fed.  renie
