[RC] Longstreet Lost & Found - rides2far@xxxxxxxx

Well I have put off writing something so long it's kind of "old news" but I
will write a wrap up of Longstreet's Charge this afternoon.

First: Lost & found (or as we call it "spoils of war" for the ride manager)

If you don't claim these things soon, do not be surprised when you see me
wearing or using them later!

Found (and returned to someone who said they were going to take it to you) One
Boa boot. Riders pulling markers will search for the other tomorrow.

Found: One maroon windbreaker with a "D" football on the breast. Handy, since I
live in Dade county and their colors are maroon & white. Nice piece of green
mountain climbing rope tying it in a bundle.

Found: Pink riding crop. Claim that one fast or I'm giving it to Bekki as an "I
Beat Cancer" trophy.

Green chair with arms that fall down. Figure you just didn't want to haul that
one off but I'll probably use it.

Two small faded purple buckets.

One orange flat back bucket.

I believe that's it. If you're missing anything else let me know. We haven't
really completely unpacked.

I deposited ride checks a few days before the ride. If for any reason you
didn't come and I cashed your check CONTACT ME! I'll be checking but I could
miss it and don't want you to think I meant to charge you for a ride you didn't
get to do.

The ranger was impressed once again at how PRISTINE the camp was after we left.
Only bad thing *at all* was that I did have 4 or 5 people who had the bright
idea of leaving their trash in bags neatly piled by the porto-for the ride
manager to haul off. Honestly, what if *everyone* had done that???? As it was,
I got to fill up the back of my dad's truck with smelly bags that were slightly
torn open from some critter, then eventually transfer them to *my* truck then
keep them in my truck till WED which was the first day I could get to the dump,
then drag them out after they'd been rained on 2 days, and hope to goodness the
bag didn't tear since it was obviously full of beer bottles (did I mention I
cracked or badly bruised my ribs Sun??) So, give the ride managers a break
guys. I'm guessing these were newbies who didn't know any better since none of
*us* would do that, right? :-) I'll make sure to tell them the obvious next
year...take it with you!

Cindy mentioned I should put up a photo of the AMAZING perpetual trophy that
Gary Sanderson made for the ride. I'll get one up there today. Bill is building
a special display shelf for it in our cabin and it looks so good on there that
I want to wait to photograph it. :-)

P.S. Cindy is TALL! I think 7 kind of spooked at her legs hanging down at
first. He'd never felt anything touch him that low on his belly. >g< Maybe she
got him trained enough that even Steph could borrow him now!
