[RC] Yucca and Testing - Tom Sites

Hello,

This morning i got an e-mail from my mentress (anybody got a better word if i am her mentor?) saying "What am I going to do?  I feed rice bran and Southern States feed."  I told her not to get her panties in a wad and yes there are some wadded panties in Endurance today.  Whats striking to me is... its not the people that out and out cheat.  They are much further along in drugs and testing to ever get caught on something like yucca, yet its the ones that just want to do good for their horses and feed them each their individual diet that 'works' for them.

Also in another conversation today i mentioned that rice bran and yucca are hot topics on RC.  This person just sold a horse to a Sheik and the horse was drug tested and it showed no problem even tho they feed rice bran and SS feed.  So if a Shieks blood test comes back negative, what blood test is AERC ever going to do that would not be cost preventative to give you a positive test?

I would be interested in Staggs viewpoint Bruce and i wish you'd share it and if i missed it i'm sorry, and i hope AERC has a statement very soon to allay real concerns to those that should not be concerned and go after those that are in fact cheaters of which there are very few.
