[RC] Alfalfa-free diet for endurance mule - Lucy Chaplin Trumbull

...Anybody have
good results on their endurance horses/mules on an alfalfa-free diet?
What grain or supplements do you use?

Jill LMF make a nice supplement specially formulated for grass hay diets - LMF Super-G - you give about 80% of a coffee can a day (and the horses gobble it up).

My endurance horse(s) live mostly on grass or grain hays
(although they're getting a limited grass/alf right now) and
I've not had problems. I think you'll find a fair number of riders
who don't feed alfalfa.

The thing to watch out for is a lack of calcium, so you can
also feed beet pulp to help out there.
