[RC] Old Dominion Endurance Ride Update (Virginia) - Mary Howell

On April 15, an arsonist struck at the Old Dominion Endurance Rides, Inc.
new basecamp in Orkney Springs, VA. The result was a total loss of the barn
used by the club as a office and ride equipment storage.

The Old Dominion has a long-term lease on this property but there was no
insurance on the building. The good news is that suspects have recently been
apprehended. Also, this unfortunate event will have no effect on the
upcoming 25, 50 and 100 mile rides on June 13, 2009. The Old Dominion will
upgrade a pump house building on the same site for rider registration.

However, the Old Dominion will gratefully accept donations to replace the
lost equipment and help grow our fund to replace the lost structure with a
pavilion that can be used for years to come.

Your donation is tax deductible and can be mailed to the Old Dominion
Endurance Rides, 16813 Clarkes Gap Road, Paeonian Springs, Virginia 20129.
Donors will receive special recognition in the OD newsletter, annual
membership meeting in December and OD website www.olddominionrides.org.

The Old Dominion's efforts to improve the new basecamp will also include the
addition of a gravel drive in the main parking area and construction of a
boundary fence to secure the field.

Having a well-equipped basecamp will ensure that the Old Dominion continues
to be a strong organization and a leader in the sport of endurance for years
to come.

On behalf of President Bob Walsh and the Old Dominion Board of Directors, we
thank those able to contribute.
