RE: [RC] WAS not just mangers... NOW extending divider to floor - Sharon Levasseur

I suspect that as long as the divider is flexible and not stretched tight, the horse can still spread his legs to balance. I owned a Brenderup for a while and it had that clear plastic divider... seemed to work great.

Quoting sherman <sherman@xxxxxxxxxxx>:

"step-over metal bar" is used at some trail areas to deter motorcycles.
There is usually a large locked drive-thru gate, then at one or both ends a
small opening for people and horses to go thru, but it's maybe 4' wide,
definitely wide enough for a horse, but add a saddle, rider, and fear of
stepping over a foreign object while being squeezed thru a gate and I can
tell you it's a recipe for disaster. One wrong move and the rider is slammed
against the metal side posts, or the horse could get it's hind leg(s) stuck
under the cross pipe (before they put the folded mats over the pipe).

I don't know about divider material, other than I was considering using a 2'
strip of stall matting just to make the divider a bit lower. With a straight
load, I thought the divider shouldn't be too low, because it affects how far
the horse can spread his legs to balance?
