[RC] re: sun protection and saddles - Cindy Collins

Donna, I usually buy the sun protection caps with the velcro on neck flaps, then take that flap and velcro it onto my helmet. I've also had the flaps made for me by a friend who can sew. I just use the stick on velcro for the helmet and the sew on velcro for the flap. Works great.

This is the type of cap I buy and it shows the detachable flap: http://www.wittmanntextiles.com/bacapwirefl.html

As for your saddle hunt, I highly recommend that you rent a Port Lewis fitting pad and figure out exactly where the horse is being hurt by various saddles. I would also suggest that you not buy any saddle without demo-ing it first for several rides and with the Port Lewis. I've heard excellent things about the Specialized, but have not owned one. I can highly recommend the Reactor Panels, Arabian Saddle Co., and Freeforms if they fit you and your horse. Good luck. Cindy
