I heard that there's a "Trilby" rule made because Trilby would ride
two rides in one day when she was competing against Les Carr for
mileage.

I believe the rule you are referring to is 6a: "All riders and mounts must be present and accounted for at the start of the ride." This wording allows one to start a bit late, or even more than a bit late with the permission of the RM, but not 5 or 6 HOURS late, as in do a ride, trailer to a second venue and do another ride or do a ride and then immediately start out on a second ride being held on the same course.
