[RC] peeing on the trailer - terre

For those of you whose horses never pee in the trailer... do you do anything at all to alleviate the horse's suffering on a long drive? Do you stop every "x number of hours" to unload the horse and give it the opportunity to pee?

Trying to get ideas for a non-pee'r.......... LOL

Thanks,
Sharon L. in Maine

I take mine off every 3-4 hours; none of them pee on the trailer. That's the deal--I take 'em off; they don't pee on my trailer. They know how often their breaks are, and I honour my part of the pact.

There's more than just peeing; I like to walk them a little, let them get their heads down and graze and blow, check for anything untoward, clean the manure out if possible, offer a drink....

I can pull off, unload them, do the break thing, and be back on the road in 15-20 mins. All of us feel better after.
