Re: [RC] re: WERM vs. Rhino - marybenstover

WERM is something like Bondo, if you know what that is.  You mix the base with a catalyst and then spread it on and smooth it out.  It has to cure for a couple of days, if I remember correctly.  I don't know what Rhino is like so can't compare that.

I know Karen hates shavings but I can't do without them.  But then, my dog sleeps in the horse trailer and I would rather that he smell like pine shavings and not horse poop.  The other thing is that I think the shavings insulate so that the road heat does not come up through the floor as much.  I travel with the side windows open so use a fly mask.  The fly mask also protects their eyes in case of shavings dust.  If you can get the really big shavings, that is great.  The vets at Penninsula Equine use shavings in their trailers...........mb

Subject: [RC] re:  WERM vs. Rhino

I hate to be so thoroughly confused...but, I have many people telling
me (including some locals truck dealerships) that there is no
comparison between WERM and Rhino or the other spray or pour in type
liners.  Aside from a big difference in thickness and cushioning for
the horses to stand on, I've had several people tell me that the Rhino
type liners do not seal as well and that you will get seepage and will
find rotting and pitting underneath the Rhino type liners.  They say
that's why the cost is so different.  BTW, a big part of the cost on
my trailer is the transportation to and from OK from the factory in
TX...that added $375.  There are no WERM locations anywhere near me
here in Wyoming.  There are lots of spray-in type liner places
including several here in Cody.  That's what I'm trying to
assess...the real differences in the products.
