Another difference between UMECRA CTR and NATRC. There are absolutely no points associated with horse appearance, or horsemanship, or how the horse is confined at camp in UMECRA CTR. If you want to see horses properly cared for under difficult, wet and cold conditions come to a few late season MN rides. Frostbite Fiasco (Competitive only), and Point Chaser come to mind. I have been on both where the rides started with mixed rain and snow and then the weather got bad.

By the way, of course many CTR folk to figure out how to adjust pace to conditions. My comment was related to a particular ride where I noted the complaints and results from some riders who had done CTR for years and had not figured this out.
