[RC] GPS Skywriting - rides2far@xxxxxxxxOK, I have a new idea to liven up field riding. After a few circles around a field today Josie said, "We should do figure 8's, we have room, just to switch things up." I said, "Hey, I'm going to download this track, try to write you name in the field!" Well, she made it through a big cursive "J" before she lost her place and the horse was getting frustrated with her. I'm going to try it on my own next time. If any of you can pull it off please post your track and let me see it. When I view her "J" on motionbased map it's very jagged, but if you click Google Earth it's not bad. I'm riding with a friend who has a GPS and mine is consistantly shortchanging me on mileage...mine seems to simplify tracks taking shortcuts. Yesterday hers gave her 8.2 and mine was 7.8 on the odometer and dropped to 7.5 on a track log.
