[RC] AERC and FEI rides - Michael Maul

In response to:"For this past ride season, there are 10 FEI rides put on, supported and sanctioned by AERC."

Actually AERC is not a part of the FEI ride and does not sanction them.

An AERC ride sanction is requested by the ride manager. If the ride manager wants to include an FEI ride at the same event, they can do so but it is not part of any AERC sanctioning or support. The request for an FEI sanction is never seen by AERC.

The AERC and FEI rides are run concurrently over the same trails but the only the results of the AERC ride are reported by AERC.

The rules are different in some places and you can have an FEI entry that does not complete the FEI ride but is entered in the AERC ride as well and does complete the AERC ride.

AERC does allow the term FEI to be used in the ride title to indicate that there is an FEI ride held in conjunction with the AERC ride.
