Re: [RC] [RC] Renegade boot preliminary review - Beth WalkerInteresting. Yet another thing to put in the saddle packs. At this rate, I'm going to need your mule just to pack everything! :)On Feb 11, 2008, at 9:11 PM, Marirose Six wrote: The BEST spare tire I've ever had (no joke here) is an old dish towel & a roll of vetrap. We had to use this on a flat footed TB in the Big Horn mountains one year. We were still miles from camp when he pulled a shoe & he got very sore very quickly. No one had any boots, but i always carry the afore mentiond stuff in my saddle bags (along with many things, including the kitchen sink-fold up h2o bucket :o)). After folding up the towel to cover his hoof, we used a hole roll of vetrap to hold it on. She was able to ride him out at a walk without anymore soreness. That wrap stayed on him for 2 days (no more riding, travel days) before I had a chance to put the shoe back on. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
