I believe it was the NORCAL horse rescue that just recently had a euthanasia day.

I spent some time on the phone today with one of our local tv channel reporters
who is doing a story on the increasing number of horses that people are turning
loose on the public range. It does beg the question of how a person that simply
cannot continue to care for a horse should 'ethically' deal with it. If
you can't feed it, and can't give it away, your options are limited.
Sorry this is a bit off topic, but it's a tough (and real) issue these days.
