My experience is that giving a person a warning
is a lot like what happens when a woman tries to tell
something to a man.  The human brain has many "pre-screening"
circuits that act to filter out what the brain pre-judges to
be "noise."  By the time the message works its way
through these pre-screeners, there just aren't enough
neurons left firing in the conscious, thinking parts of
the brain for the message to "sink in" and modify
behavior.
