Re: [RC] Riding To The Rescue CTR in Region 6 - Karen Everhart

In this case, as a 501(c)3 public charity, we are able to get true, tax deductible donations for food and awards, etc.  Plus, many folk really do care about the "cause" and are stepping up to be of assistance to help cut costs.  So we are hoping for a decent profit.

Just speaking of my personal experience as a manager...there's not any funds left over after the bills are paid. A lot of times you have to dig into your own pockets just to pay the bills. JMHO

I have wondered this-why aren't there more fundraiser rides in Endurance?  Or maybe the ones I've ridden at just didn't publicize it was a fundraiser?  I'd personally rather some money go to a noble cause, like this one, than get a silly t-shirt or other item. Most of us have way too much "stuff" anyway.  JMHO
