I heard it a little different, can't remember that much, something like
the Arabs said if you wanted a horse that could outrun your enemy, ride a
chestnut, if you wanted one that would (this one is the one I'm least
sure of) be willing to jump off a bluff...ride a black, if you wanted one
that would survive the fall, ride a bay.  I tried hard to google for any
part of that and couldn't find anything. The part I'm surest of was the
chestnut for raw speed and the bay for tough.


And the 
chase goes on and now they are being chased by riders on bay's in 
which the 
father replies" Ride like hell son as they will never quit ."
