And, as far as I am concerned, this is a damned good reason for having a Thoroughbred.  You can buy a saddle off the rack, and it will fit.  Not just because english saddle makers make saddles to fit thoroughbreds, but that thoroughbreds almost always have backs that are easy to fit saddles on.  The race track selects for a back with a good place to put a saddle.
 
Arabs bred for the race track usually have the same, easy to fit, off the rack back.
