I'm pretty sure the hay comes from France, the delta of the Durance river in the south. It is called "Foin de Crau". It is mostly used for flat race horses. We don't like it too much for endurance as it can be a  bit too rich. Many many different species of plant, if I remember well, something like 30 different varieties. It smells like tea -:)

Ok, you've got my attention, where does their hay come from, what kind of
hay is it?  I think we have absolutely "beeyoutiful" hay here, an orchard
grass/alfalfa mix.  Crockett Dumas produces "world class" hay in southern
Utah, imho, that same lovely orchard grass/alfalfa.

So, out of curiosity, what kind of hay are they importing, and where is it
coming from?
