Are you serious?  I have no doubt that these horses are well-trained and ridden by some of our best riders.  It's a horse's nature to "react" and even the best trained horse can become unglued at times -- all you can do is ride it out until their brains return.

I am very far removed from this type of competition,  but it seems
to me that they took horses over there that are "trained/accustomed to" going out in front and staying there...winning horses.  Then they take them to this
high energy, stress race and expect them to "follow the plan".  I think they should ride the horses as the horses are accustomed to being campaigned.
